About This Sanctuary
Pace e Bene is a contemplative digital sanctuary devoted to the life, teachings, and sacred places of Saint Francis of Assisi. It gathers the saint's own prayers and writings, a chapter-by-chapter telling of his journey from the cloth-merchant's son to the Poverello of Assisi, an art gallery of sacred images, a guide to the pilgrimage sites of Umbria, and a living library of daily devotions — including the Mass readings, the Divine Office, the liturgical calendar, and seasonal novenas.
This sanctuary is for everyone drawn to the Franciscan way: practicing Catholics seeking a prayerful companion through their day, pilgrims preparing to walk the roads Francis walked, lovers of sacred art and medieval history, and any soul — of any faith or none — searching for a moment of peace in a hurried world. Here you may keep a private prayer journal, read the day's scripture, pray the Liturgy of the Hours, share a community reflection, and support the work through the giving of alms.
Pace e Bene is built and maintained by an independent community of lay devotees and volunteers who wish only to share the Poverello's message of peace, simplicity, and reverence for all creation. We are not affiliated with any official Franciscan order, though we hold their charism dear. Every feature is offered freely, in the spirit of Lady Poverty.
